industry and ad design. Published author and awarded poet. Song writer, musician multiple instruments. Painting continuously and showing actively, globally since 1980. On Board of Directors, RCAA since 2008.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
I was drawing before anything else, first found a connection as cartoonist. Through college learned to observe and paint, got very comfortable with several painting techniques and won a few awards. With a deep studied of art history, I purposefully moved away from painting observed objects, my theory - the camera and movies were doing well at that already. So revisiting my cartoonist roots and began to play between figurative representation and the geometric/ metaphysical shapes. For me, my work is as Figurative-Surreal-Abstract. I enjoy juxtaposing colors and having a sense of energy and movement coming in and out of the picture. Pareidolia comes naturally, so I just let that aspect flow - some close to me, who’s opinion I count on, have told me to stop doing the faces, I say I will.
